Mortalized – Delhi Poetry Slam

Mortalized

By Vyga P
Water droplets transfigured to clouds.
Their tears brought rain,
Awakened every shoot.
The golden sunshine added bliss to life.
When it all ran as a cycle
Somewhere poison invaded the chain.
Inventions added to the foreseen tragedy.
They catalyzed the destruction.
Quotes made WhatsApp status,
Conservation stood miles away.
Cheap emotional drama played its part,
Not even a tree did we plant.
We saw Earth burn but did nothing.
We staged the part of mere observers.
Mortalized by each of our acts,
Earth still revolves evoking wonder.
