You and Yours

BY GAYATRI INDALKAR

Favorites in pictures became unknown,
In this room of strangers searching the only
Daisy I’ve known.
Trying to follow your steps, but it’s all new;
Just one look from you drowned me in you.
Maybe I see it in your eyes,
If our friendship is a love in disguise.

I wish for you every day, but I guess you never do.
In the silent blues, I keep staring at you.
In my stardust thoughts, I see only you, and
How the stars of your skies shine bright
In my empty nights all the time.
Don’t have a clue if it’s wrong or right,
Imploring the falling stars in your eyes:
Stay by my side in my truths and lies.

It’s like the rain freezing just by touching you.
Our story written again, blame me for holding on,
Not for loving you.
It’s a love song so beautiful, let the sky cry too.
Just let go; these words will make sense once they find you.

Abandoned me by the falling sunset, it’s been a while.
Counting down nights till the strings untangle, wait a while.
About me, everything I hated, like this you still held me.
You were everything I loved, how cold the blaze in me be.

Roses lying by your door got tired of waiting,
Pictures broke again, everything felt like falling.
Feels like I’ve lived this moment of longing, wanting just you.
Know this endless wait ends with you.
In my darkest days you were the light;
Your smile healed every wound of mine.
