Whispers of Hope

By Rishit Sonchhatra

When endurance was time’s need,
Precisely I looked upon, the young seed.
Scorching heat, heavy rains, gush of winds, it must embrace with glee,
For it to grow, flourish, and mature as a tree.
When lack of endurance pulled me down life’s slope,
In the seed I found, my whispers of hope.

When calmness was the need of the hour,
Pondered I, over the night sky, relishing the twinkling star.
Flowing freely by my side, I saw the sea,
Enjoying its own existence, ecstatic was he.
When lack of calmness pulled me down life’s slope,
In the sea I found, my whispers of hope.

When the faith in self I lost, troubled me the most,
I observed the bird, learning to fly, though completely lost.
Trusting its wings, it had made up its mind,
Soon, it took its first flight, after falling, learning, and going through the grind.
When lack of faith pulled me down life’s slope,
In the bird I found, my whispers of hope.

When patience seemed a must in the long run,
I went to the bright shining sun.
To rise, he has to wait every day, till the night is done,
Smiled and said he, wait a little more, sure you will find your abode, my son!
When lack of patience pulled me down life’s slope,
In the sun I found, my whispers of hope.

When my ambitions weren’t clear, big and sound,
To the sky I went, endless was its spread, with no bound.
Immense is your potential said he and added, everyone I could astound,
Provided I pour in the effort, but keep my feet on the ground.

When lack of ambitions pulled me down life’s slope,
In the sky I found, my whispers of hope.

But above all, who stands tall? I asked myself, during that fearsome night, Caught in the turmoil, precarious was my plight.
Just then, I saw the guiding light!
Yes, you are right! inner voice claimed the ultimate might.
When none saved me, from sliding down life’s slope,
I simply peeped within, and that’s where I found, my whispers of hope.
