Unvoiced Cry of the Unborn

By Afsheen Shahana B

The ravisher's chromosomes triumphed via me

Inbred through force as opposed to love --

My heartbeat syncs with my matriarch's rhythm

As I swim through her spacious womb.

Accept me not as an errand stroke of mistake,

Gaze at thy womb with my foot kicks in shape

Euphonious voices in my uterus do I hear

Mama, how long in here?

Eye on the mirror for that bump is me

Let not I be spoilt by poisoned in a sphere;

Footsteps of thyself I follow to be

Thy love stitches will be worth it.

My genetic code will be a testimony against him

So for the emergence of existence,

Abstain from pain and produce me soft

I will enshrine your forever like the umbilical cord.
