A century ago, on the thoroughfare,
With expectations in the eyes,
A vagrant would at the passers glare,
That someone may him suffice.
Shredded are his garments,
With his vision, blurred yet deep,
No one saw on him life's torments,
That they'd for him charity reap.
Cause of that was not his deeds,
Neither his impotence,
But the lust that people leads,
Searching material substance.
Sitting on the street weak and pale,
Hunger on wall, I see him carve,
Then he thinks of the better jail,
Where he'd get food and not starve.
He then robbed a man; mean, profuse,
Who'd everyday pass that street,
Then decided to not refuse,
The investigation he would meet,
That derelict did so because, not,
He was greedy or such thing any,
As that fellow always dime sought,
Yet never helped or gave a penny.
Beggar thought, "I'd be in prison fed,
Or at most sent to the kind gibbet."
He thought, " I'd either get a bed,
Or executed, to in peace set."
I education; leave on you to realize,
Who was incorrect or right,
The unhelping, educated, yet unwise,
Or the underprivileged who couldn't fight.
I, decider of fate, had this verdict,
For that young man in the jail,
That with my power I did him afflict,
Again to the streets tale.
He now no more alone,
He had my presence and support,
I assisted him get like a stone,
Yet be soft with rapport.
Everyone's life such doesn't turn,
To the fortunate I myself lend,
Expecting them to a lot learn,
And other's fortune amend.
I did so as, I saw in his vision,
A zeal, to bring a light,
In society for an operation,
To cure a disease of plight.
Plight of issues and the crime,
That underprivileged youth stand,
That in their unfortunate time,
In such records they land.
Like all he had a dream,
He assured to effectuate,
Even troubles that many seem,
With me he did always conjugate.
Great books he'd choose,
Replacing food, them, he'd bring,
Toughly begging, he'd fall and loose,
Yet to get up, to learn everything.
Later my lover, turned into a padrone,
With his , in mind, the past,
With his area having none,
Destitute, illiterate and outcast.
