Oh, to be a woman
in her 30’s
is not less than being a soldier of the battles
She fights each day.
each moment
sometimes with her loved one’s
sometimes with strangers.
sometimes with the world itself.
but the most difficult
is the one she fights with herself.
Oh, to be a woman
in her 30’s
where being single is seen as more of a curse.
than a boon.
Some of us succumb to loneliness.
some of us to the crazy marriage drive.
some of us for the stamp of approval.
some of us for being rebels.
who would love to live in solitude,
than to throw oneself into society’s mediocre strife.
Oh, to be a woman
and the sailor of a boat called life
driven by decisions made by herself
constantly creating her own paradise.
Oh, to be a woman
in her 30s who writes poetry for leisure
and her mental peace
sometimes echoing world realities.
sometimes for the ones she loved with all her heart.
and the ones she lost to time.
She falls in love with small things every day.
someday while immersing in tangible moments.
and on the other days, sailing through intangible ones
but mostly making out through the upheavals on the journey of womanhood creating a inspiring paradigm.
May we all be woman.
Who is the master of her own
captain of the boat called life
scared of nothing.
wisdom filled in her heart,
and mind free of any strife.
May we all be the woman who is
calm as the sea right before the storm.
strong as a thunderbolt whose voice echoes through the clouds
lightning and widening up the narrow horizon of human consciousness
who are stuck in a loop of
patriarchal rhymes.
