Ode to Women

By Arun Raj

From my Anthology of poems called " Excerpts from my Hunting Diaries"

To my beloved kind, I write this Ode in hopes of an apology

For you to rejuvenate and bless what’s mine as I don't wish to read a eulogy

The mishaps and chaos had toppled my life and deluded my vision.

Let this period serve as a reminder for my next mission.

When Rati met Kama, her blessings made the city wet

Her elixir of life took away the hate, filled the empty chalice with love

The realigning of my chakras made me realize my identity,

She lay there hesitant to fulfill my desires, as she knew I deserved better

Giving me the freedom to explore your kind beyond her,

The tale of two warriors, made me realize the mistakes made

In pursuit of forbidden pleasures, I met you along the way.

If the goddess who gifted you desires, one day we’d fill up each other’s day

For a moment melodies rhymed and made a reason for the crime.

She is a 4 for me, I’m a 5 for her and together we make up a 9 for each other

Grant me your love, to fulfill desires of each other

Let the worthy have me and let the real one be in my stories

As she and I shall remain immortal forever in life and their memories.
