"Bihu"- the vibrant and joyous festival of
Assam.
The main feature of Assamese culture.
Marks three different phases of
agricultural practices.
Celebrating thrice a year-
Rongali in April
Kangali in October
Bhugali in January

Among these, most significant is our Rongali....... called as "Bohag Bihu"

When Spring has arrived,
Diverse melodies of cuckoo
begins to signify the Rongali's arrival.

Foxtail orchid begin to bloom,
expanding it's fragrance everywhere.

Assamese new year begins.

People clean and decorate their homes,
People buy new clothes,
Women prepare chira, pitha, laru.

Offering our "Bihuwan" to loved ones.
Ladies wearing "muga mekhela chador".

Dhol, Pepa, Gogona mesmerizing our land.

Jetuka( Henna leaves) enhancing the
beauty of Bihu Nasoni.

Sons and daughters of Assam come to home land.

"Husori" is started.

Everything become fresh and beautiful.

Our Bohag bihu bring lots of happiness to our homeland.
