Believe
At first a word
hesitatingly I hold it
in my palm
Flipping it around
Uncertain it settles on my skin
not sure about staying.
'Believe' follows me,
a plead to make peace,
give it one more chance
“embrace me” it implores
“let’s make a fresh start”.
'Believe'
softly whispers,
caressing my ears
an urging voice beckoning as
It knows how much I have been hurt
Fear arises, doubts linger
the past not far from here.
'Believe'
holding a new promise
under the sky of hope
assures it won’t hurt.
A gentle spark and a constant light
No more dark nights
No more crushing blows
unbearable heartaches
from shattered beliefs
and broken promises.
Believe:
“Come, let’s mend the pieces of you”
Faith may waiver
Trust may strain
'Believe' brings solace
shifts the course with a new word.
“Embrace me”
'Believe' urges
and watch how beautiful
life and love will be.
