Urban Summer

104° Fahrenheit -
Really?
But I'm lying under the blanket
Sipping coffee and watching TLC
The sunlight can't even penetrate through the curtains,
Surely it can't be that much of a nuisance?
104° Fahrenheit -
Really?
But my ice cream hasn't melted yet
And I can see those men working
By the roadside -
Surely, they won't be labouring
If it were scorching hot outside!
104° Fahrenheit -
Really?
But the water for my bath is cold,
And why would people be having lassi
Outside that shabby stall, right
Under the sun
In a weather as hot as you claim?
104° Fahrenheit -
Really?
But I see those children in their untidy uniforms
Playing catch and chasing one another -
I mean, if it were hot,
They'd be in Baskin Robbins instead!
104° Fahrenheit, you say?
Are you sure?
Why can't I feel a thing!
