Oblivion

By Nimisha Tomar

So tell me if you'll ever come back to the place where we first met,
When you and I, awkwardly trying to start a conversation, seemingly unaware of each other's introversion made every effort to keep that going while I smiled shyly and blushed a little.
So tell me if you'll ever come again to pick me up at nine every morning even if you know that I'll never make up on time,
And will still greet me with a smiling face, silently accepting my apologies.
So tell me if you'll ever want to have those unending talks with me over a cup of tea at that small tea stall along the roadside,
And walking all the way back to my place on the cold shivery nights, when I would clench your hand and feel that everything will be alright.
So tell me that you would still be able to speculate a sudden change in my mood and will do the best to lift it up,
And will take me to my favourite restaurant and order my favourite dish even if you'll end up eating only a bit of it slyly saying I'm full.
So tell me if I'm all broke and shattered like any other day, you will still come over to gratify me like you always do, and assure me that you'll always be there and I can still rely on you for every decision I take in my life,
Because if not, I'll still visit here every evening to ask you all of these over and over again, maybe some part of my love for you will bring you back with these surge of waves and we would be sitting there hand in hand and laughing till our stomach aches!
